Often when people get started with rope, the first thing they focus on learning are knots and patterns. While these are really good fundamentals to get you started, these skills often don’t translate into making good scenes or good performances.

This class will cover some of the basics of rope handling, and will focus on two primary parts: the biomechanics of rope handling, and the cognitive aspects required for rope handling.

The approach for class is not prescriptive– rather than teaching “what Good rope handling looks like”, this class will focus on a series of demos and exercises that will help you find what style of rope handling best fits your intent for any given day or tie.

For this class, each tying pair will need:
– 3-4 pieces of rope
– A blindfold or tenegui
– Knowledge of at least 1 structural upper body tie (any of your choice)

Tops and bottoms, please prepare to be active and mobile. Dress accordingly for a moderate amount of exercise. Prepare to feel a little silly.

This class is great for anyone new or old to rope, and is very repeatable. Especially recommended to intermediate skill levels.

All sexes, genders, ethnicities, sexual orientations, relationship orientations welcome and celebrated.
