Thank you for a magnificent year!

Greetings!

This has been a successful year for the Foundation for Sex Positive Culture and its programs: Consent Academy, Seattle Erotic Art Festival, our education program, and the Seattle Erotic Cinema Society’s first annual SECS Film Fest. I wanted to thank you for all the support you have given to this organization. Every time you buy a ticket, make a donation, share information about us on social media, and volunteer your time or skills, it is a valuable contribution to the work we are doing to make the world a safer, more accepting place for people of all genders and sexual orientations. If you have more to give, please add the Foundation to your list of charities for your end of year giving.

I believe that to be whole and happy, we have to accept our sexuality as a part of ourselves. I believe that art is a perfect tool to help us understand other experiences outside our own. Erotic art can help us transcend tolerance and move into acceptance of the vast array of sexual expression. Seattle Erotic Art Festival and Seattle Erotic Cinema Society strive to create atmospheres that support and celebrate societal and personal evolutions.

The Consent Academy continues to be a resource for strengthening Consent Culture throughout the Puget Sound. Not only within Foundation events and programs, but through offering education and consultations. The Education Program is dedicated to offering a safe space for explorations for all with a variety topics, and the Pay It Forward Scholarship program.

All of our programs share a common goal to make this world more consent-conscious and a safer place for people to become their whole, authentic selves.

You can learn of the many ways you can support the on this web page, or you can donate directly online using a credit card here.

All of us at the Foundation are out to change the world. Your tax deductible donation will help make that change happen. Whether you choose to support a specific program or the organization in general, you have our deepest appreciation.

Yours in service of creating a more loving, consenting, sex positive world,

Sophia Iannicelli
Executive Director

Parker RopeBoi returns to Seattle!

Internationally famous performer and educator, Parker RopeBoi returns to Seattle to grace us with beauty and shenanigans! On October 27th, at Seduction, Parker will be one of the bondage performers featured in the Big Top Room. On October 28th, we are hosting two workshops with Parker. Of course, Parker is always available for private lessons, so if you are interested in getting instruction specific to you, email us at [email protected] and we will connect you with Parker.

SCHEDULE

Friday, October 27 — two performances between 8pm & midnight
Seduction – Circus of Carnal Delights
Within SoDo: $90 – $175

Parker RopeBoi is an interdisciplinary queer scholar and performer, who is internationally regarded for original solo shibari performances and self-suspension techniques. Parker’s performance work articulates with issues of abject and queer bodies, and engages questions of social bonds, boundedness, and boundaries, and the potentials for their transgression or transcendence.

Saturday, October 28 — 3:00pm
Futomomo Variety Pack ~Educator: Parker RopeBoi
Ballard: $45. Advance: $32 (Solo) $60 (Duo) and $85 (Trio)

This class teaches a variety of different ties for binding a bent leg, ties that are often called a futomomo. The class presents the different features of these ties and relative suitability of these different ties for different applications, attachment points, and suspension positions, as well as for different bodies, physical preferences, and sensitivities. Participants will learn ties for attaching on the inside, the outside, and on both sides. Participants will also learn ties that concentrate the load on different areas of the leg, and how adjust that pressure so as to have a more comfortable (or at least less uncomfortable) futomomo.

Saturday, October 28 — 7:00pm
Predicament Play ~Educator: Parker RopeBoi
Ballard: $30. Advance: $22 (Solo) $40 (Duo) and $55 (Trio)

Predicament play often appeals to the more creative, quirky, and even ridiculous SM players, bringing out our inner mad-scientist sadists & James Bond escape artists masochists.

Predicaments tend to involve being between a proverbial “rock and a hard place” while trying to figure a way out (even when there’s probably no way out–just a choice between one sadistic trap and another). This class will present some general strategies and specific techniques for predicaments, risks and risk mitigation, ideas for how to plan and negotiate a predicament scene, skills for how to calibrate and adjust a predicament mid-scene, and some of my own favorite tricks and tools, including many “pervertables” everyday household items. A number of (what we expect will be highly entertaining) demonstrations of predicaments will show you some fun illustrative examples of ways to do predicament play.

Satisfy Your Urges at the Seattle Erotic Art Festival

Seattle Erotic Art Festival is known worldwide for a comprehensive collection of international fine art celebrating the diversity of human sexual expression. The incredible creativity with which artists approach the subject of erotica is captured in all manner of visual media: painting, photography, sculpture, assemblage, prints, mixed media, and more.

SEAF2017 is more than just an art show, it’s an interactive experience with lectures with amazing educators like Tobi Hill-Meyer, art tours with festival artists, naughty figure drawing, and a myriad of ways for patrons to be a part of creating art at the festival.  A very special interactive installation by Miss Indigo Blue will be available on Saturday, April 29th, culminating in a Twirling Tassels flash mob during the dance party!

Aaaahz! returns to the festival with a bevy of seductive experiences, ranging from mild to wild. There is a special event within the festival, Aaaahmazingly Racy with gifts, prizes, and a celebratory class on champagne. And remember, consent is always respected and  observation is a valid form or participation.

World class performances await you, both on and off the stages. Midori, the renown international artist and sexuality educator, will debut “Kimono 2: What We Wear” in the US. Local luminaries Ms. Briq House, The Shanghai Pearl, Boom Boom L’Roux and Syniva Whitney as the festival’s guest curators will blow you away with their daring stage shows!

Ambient performance at SEAF is interactive art that breaks the 4th wall by using the entirety of the festival space as the stage. Ambient performers engage directly with our guests, creating an immersive environment.

We are proud to present world-class erotic art that is rarely seen in mainstream culture and redefines boundaries in exciting new ways.  Get your tickets now to experience our 15th anniversary celebrating the Erotic!
