July Events

Summer is here! And we know you want to be outside so we have one class, The BDSM Workout, scheduled to occur at Golden Gardens park playing field! Due to the outdoor location, we will only offer advance ticket sales for this workshop. You can purchase online or in person at our Library.

There is a very exciting new event on July 26 that we hope you will check out, Sexploration. Sexploration is a day-long event with 9 workshops, 3 themed party rooms and numerous social opportunities to meet and mingle with other like-minded explorers. This is a great event to dip a toe in to test the kinky waters. We have teamed up with the CSPC to offer a special deal on becoming a member of Seattle’s first sex positive community center.

This workshop aims to help participants reclaim a sense of body pride, as well as learn to lovingly embrace their authentic selves.  Providing hands-on exercises and talking from a more body positive, sex positive view, licensed mental health therapist, Mandy Traut will promote the concept of self-love, self-acceptance, increased self-esteem, and greater self-worth.

Edge play* in a BDSM context is a tricky thing to negotiate. In most communities there have become accepted practices for a lot of what we do and don’t do and edge play throws those assumptions out the window. The rules are being broken so now you cannot rely on the rules. How do we find new rules and what assumptions do we still rely on?

*A subjective term for activities with higher than average risk of short or long term health consequences.

Seattle Erotic Art Festival Survey

We are pleased to report that our flagship program, The Seattle Erotic Art Festival, with the generous support of our volunteers and Festival-goers has supplied the seed money for the 2015 Festival.  While we are a not-for-profit organization, the Festival is expected to be self-supporting. This year Festival patrons took home more than $29,000 in visual art this year —24% of the exhibition. (More than double the average for other one-weekend festivals.). Thank you so much!

Please take a little time to take our survey.  Your comments and feedback help the Festival Planning Team to improve and shape each year’s Festival.

The Experience Raffle: Winner’s Choice!

The Foundation for Sex Positive Culture is excited to present this year’s Experience Raffle. We had so much fun and such a great response last year, we decided to hold another one. However, there is one big difference in 2014: the raffle winners get to create their own experiences!

There will be three winners chosen. Each winner will be able to create their own unique experience from a long list of possibilities. Second Place will be able to choose 2 experiences; First Place can choose 3 experiences and the Grand Prize Winner gets to pick a total of 4.
