Suspension bondage is an exciting and very desirable type of play right now. More and more people are doing it and in a variety of venues. Jim Duvall, bondage top and hard-point fabricator and installer, wants to make sure everyone has the information they need to make the informed decision of whether to fly from the ceiling or choose to fly on the ground. This Tuesday’s workshop will give you the tools and the confidence to keep yourself safe.
This class is for bottoms with an eye toward giving you the skills you need to look up and decide “is that a solid hard-point that is safe for me to hang from” (tops are welcome to join in). We will discuss in lay terms how things actually fail and what signs to look for that a hard-point has been poorly maintained or is too weak. We will take a tour of the Center for Sex Positive Culture’s spaces to show examples of things done right and how to examine hard-points from the ground or a ladder. Jim will share common ways things are done wrong as well as demonstrate some failures. This class is a must for anyone who wants to play with suspension bondage. After the tour, there will be time for discussion of examples, concerns, and scenarios.
Students are encouraged to participate and bring their questions and a flashlight. Please wear comfortable clothing to move around in. This is a fully accessible class.
