Aging gracefully in the scene
Each year more and more of us pass through middle age. Most of us either assume that nothing will change in our play lives, or we retire to a vanilla lifestyle. It’s true that we change, and that we sometimes wonder whether being active in the scene has an expiration date. It doesn’t. We do change. We lose some of the flexibility and energy we enjoyed in earlier years. Some of us have high blood pressure, diabetes, and other chronic issues. We don’t have to hang up our floggers and retire to the rocking chair.
Aging Gracefully in the Scene will offer help in discovering how to stay active, and enjoy hot play all through life. We hear a lot of talk about TNG (The Next Generation), well what about Our generation? Whether you are a top or a bottom, things feel a little different. Aging sneaks up on us. Sometimes, when we notice it, we panic and give up what we enjoy. We will explore how to keep enjoying the play we love.
Some of the topics we will address are:
•Roles: How do you top an older bottom. As a bottom, what do you have to know to play safely and continue having fun.
•Negotiation: There is a lot more to discuss than limits and preferences. We will explore new questions we need to ask.
•Physical and emotional changes: Dealing with older bodies, understanding the positive and negative emotional impact of aging and play.
•Sex and play.
•Finding and keeping partners. The rules change a bit for us older members.
•Social implications of a growing older population in the scene.
•Keeping it all fun
This class is interactive. Expect to contribute your experiences. Maybe even a surprise demo or two. We will be looking for bottoms and tops who would like to participate.
Who should attend: If you or a partner is over 45 years old, or you want to learn more about aging and the scene. This is not a basic class. It is aimed at experienced members of the community. Beginners are welcome.

No Safeword Writers’ Group (Sunday)
What:A discussion group and writers’ workshop for anyone interested in writing
Schedule:Fourth Sundays, monthly
When:1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Where:In the Library
Who:18+.
Cost:$5 donation
Description:
This group meets every second Tuesday and every fourth Sunday.
It’s easy to be a member of No Safeword Writers’ Group. You just have to:
Have written something at least once (we’ve all done this!)
Come to a meeting
Respect yourself… and other people and their writing
It’s as easy as that! However, a sincere interest in writing erotica helps, along with a desire to improve your writing skills by getting real-time feedback from actual readers, who are also writers themselves.
Frequently Given Answers (FGA) about No Safeword Writers Group:
Attending one NSWG meeting might be a fun evening that provides you with a few interesting ideas, but those who commit to attend meetings on a regular basis will gain the most benefit from the group.
No Safeword Writers Group focuses on erotic writing, but all subjects, styles, and types of writing are welcome.
We function primarily as a critique group, through we periodically explore other areas of the writing industry, such as publications and performance readings.
If it happens that we have no writing to review at a particular meeting, then we’ll do writing exercises or discuss topics important to local writers.
You do not have to read your work out loud, but you may if you wish.
You do not have to be a professional writer. Anyone who likes to write or is even just thinking about writing is welcome. Want to write something hot for your favorite person? We’ll help you make it the best it can be. Got an idea for a book or a story, but you haven’t started writing it yet? No problem. Bring your outline to a meeting, and let’s talk about its potential and how to flesh it out.
If you want to have your writing critiqued, you need to provide us with copies in advance so that we can give you the best feedback. This can be accomplished in two ways:
Bring printed copies of your work to this month’s meeting, for people to take home and review before next month’s meeting. Clean, double-spaced copies printed in 12-pt font (14-pt is even better) are the preferred method, no more than 20 pages in length (if you have more, just break it into sections for consecutive meetings). It’s a good idea to also bring a few additional copies to the meeting when your work is scheduled for review, just in case there are new people in attendance.
Email your story/selection for review to the NSWG Yahoo group at least two weeks before the meeting (to give people time to print their own copy and review your work), and then bring a few additional copies to the meeting for new people or those without printers. Please note: you will probably not get as much feedback using this method, since you’re putting more work on your readers this way (and asking them to spend their hard-earned scheckles on printer paper), but it works as a good second alternative to the preferred method. You must attend a NSWG meeting before you will be invited to join the Yahoo Group.
Let’s get writing!

We get so caught up in where we want to go we forget to be where we are and miss out on the connection that great D/s brings.
It doesn’t matter if you are long-time partners or new to the scene, taking the time to construct the D/s connection can be a powerful experience.
During this class we unpack the personal experience of Dominance and submission by using mindfulness technique with a simple rope bondage to form purposeful connections in the Dominance/submission aspect.
The class is suitable for Doms, subs and switches, opportunity to switch during class is available.
There’ll be opportunities for hands-on practice during this workshop – bring your partner if you want to practice. Don’t worry about coming alone, though – we’ll attempt to match people up for practice sessions.
This workshop assumes no previous experience, and is appropriate for all genders and orientations.
About the Presenter:
Aleni comes from Sydney Australia where she lives with her Master (Mark DV8) and co-partner Lani.
Aleni teaches the basics like spanking, flogging, caning, bondage and fetishism as well as the mental, emotional and spiritual concepts that go along with BDSM.
“Understanding why you do what you do helps you establish meaningful boundaries as well as improving your experience inside the D/s dynamic” (Aleni Deviate)

Intimate Polarity discussions are for people with a strong masculine or feminine sexual essence who are living in a lifelong monogamous relationship, are interested in learning about it or are looking for this kind of relationship.
In this group we celebrate the duality and sexual energy of the masculine/feminine, polarity, tao, yin/yang, and tantra with a commitment to monogamy. Vive la différence!
Often it is men who have a masculine sexual essence, and women who have a feminine sexual essence, but not always. Women with a masculine essence and men with a feminine essence are welcome here if you’re interested in being with or finding your opposite in a lifelong relationship. In this group we often use the word “man” for the masculine, and “woman” for the feminine, but we honor the essence and not the gender.
Those who are in a lifelong polyfidelitous/polyexclusive relationship are also welcome here as long as they are committed to expressing and exploring their masculine and feminine essence.
Resources and suggested reading for the Intimate Polarity journey can be found in the FSPC Library and here:

This is a hands-on class – be sure to bring your rope and your practice partners! If you don’t have a partner, come anyway and we’ll do our best to hook you up with a practice buddy. Rope Bottoms – this is your chance to meet some rope tops – come learn and get tied up!
Some rope will be provided for the workshop, but bring your own rope if you have it.
This class is appropriate for all genders and orientations.
Prerequisite required: This workshop is best suited for experienced riggers and assumes previous bondage experience. While it’s not a prerequisite, Saturday’s Hishi Fusion Takate Kote would be very useful background.
Limited enrollment: To ensure supervised attention to all students, the workshop will be limited to forty students. Preregistration / prepayment is required.
You may also want to attend:
Constructing D/s Connections with Rope (Aleni) – Fri 5/31/13 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Hishi Fusion Takate Kote (Mark and Lani) – Sat 6/1/13 8:00 pm – 10:30 pm
Lotus Seated Suspension (Mark and Lani) – Sun 6/2/13 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm
About the Presenter:
In 2001 Mark established his kink family DV8House, along with his slave Aleni, and began a series of skill shares and monthly house parties that continued for the next 5 years.
In 2006 he first travelled to Japan to tie with his friend Osada Steve. His friendship with Osada Steve has had a strong influence on his bondage style and he regularly returns to Japan to keep his skills sharp.
In more recent years he has also had the opportunity to tie with Hajime Kinoko after being invited to perform at the inaugural Toubaku in Tokyo.
Mark is renowned for teaching advanced Japanese rope bondage topics and performance bondage. His performance style combines his intense sensuality and undeniable dominance with his innate skill. Each performance is a creation of dynamic Japanese rope bondage and breath-taking SM imagery that keeps Mark and his partner Lani regularly performing at home and overseas.

Attendees are always welcome to decline to participate in anything which makes them uncomfortable.
Whether you are new to sacred sexuality or a long-time practitioner, please join us for monthly discussions on sacred sexuality. Topics will vary by month.

Stripping is sexy, fun and intimidating! Starting with a discussion about why we want to strip – whether for a partner in private, or on-stage in public – we will talk about the fears that keep us from stripping, and how to combat them.
We will then transition into the movement portion of this workshop, which includes basic exercises in coordinated motion, and how to undress to music. We will also cover how to build confidence and poise, choosing music, designing costumes, creating a mood, and determining your stripping style and character.
This workshop is appropriate for all genders, all orientations, all skill levels.
About the Educator:
Ruin has been kinky for as long as she remembers. Her exploration of BDSM began in L.A., but it wasn’t until she moved to Seattle, joined the CSPC, & discovered the Leather community that she blossomed into the wicked sadomasochist she is today. Her interests are as varied as her panties, but her first loves remain bondage, blood, beatings and, of course, boots. Ruin is International Community Bootblack 2012, Northwest Community Bootblack 2012, an active member & educator at the CSPC, & a Full Member of SgoL.
A proud Leathergirl, Ruin is also an experienced performer. With a background in professional ballroom dance, she is honored to be a former Lusty Lady, crediting her confidence as a burlesque & bondage performer to her time dancing in the legendary Seattle peepshow. It was through Ruin’s dance career that she discovered her passion for teaching. She now brings that passion to the kink community, offering a variety of classes, from yoga & stripping to D/s & Leathercare.

The Foundation for Sex Positive Culture is proud to present Erotic Massage Night. The Sunday evening event is held every 2nd Sunday of the Month. In January, May, September the first half of the evening is instruction nights (see below). All other months are a regular evening massage. July & August is summer break and no massage night is held those 2 months.
INSTRUCTION NIGHT: These evening massages will be different from the other Sunday night massages. There have been many requests for an instructional massage evening; so on instruction night the first half of the evening will be a demonstration of an erotic massage on a female and a male model. For those interested in an evening of different erotic massage techniques and different genital strokes then this is the night for you to attend. The second half of the evening will be for you to practice what you learned. Come learn some techniques and strokes that you can use at the other Sunday massage evenings.
REGULAR NIGHT: These evening massages will be for you to practice what you learned on the instructional evening or to do whatever you consider an erotic massage is for you. This evening will be a non-instructional evening, but individual instruction can be requested.
Bring a partner or come by yourself. We will be asking everyone who attends this evening’s massage to come with an open mind and open heart. We will have one table open for those who don’t find a group to join so you don’t feel left out. Ladies if you are hesitant about coming by yourself, we encourage you to attend, talk privately with the evening facilitators and let them help you relax and prepare for the evenings massage.
When we honor our bodies and connect from our hearts, we can explore new places of erotic freedom. These evening events should combine touch, massage, verbal communication and non-verbal communication to deepen our erotic exploration. This is an introductory evening massage that will hopefully lead you to continual exploration of Eros. You need not have prior experience in erotic massage but must attend with a willingness to give as well as receive.
Want to heighten your level or eroticism men? Then we encouraged you to refrain from ejaculation for 48 to 72 hours before this evening’s massage and all participants are asked to refrain from the use of alcohol or recreational drugs prior to and during the massage evening.
If you have your own massage table, music, oils or lotions please feel free to bring them, but we will have music, massage tables, sheets, towels, massage oil and lubricant available for your use.
The evening’s facilitator, David Longmire, is a Body Electric School trained Sacred Intimate and has worked with spiritually based erotic energy for the past 13 years. David helps facilitate the Erotic Massage evenings at the Wet Spot, facilitates daylong workshops each month, Exploring Erotic Touch and has a private practice in Sacred Sexuality, Erotic Touch and Erotic Massage.
For questions or further information, please contact: massage@thefspc.org.
(Because of the high level of junk mail sent to this email address, please put in the subject line: FSPC Massage Night. Otherwise your email may be missed and deleted. If you don’t receive an answer within 48 hours, please call the Center for Sex Positive Culture.)”

Everyone deals with interpersonal conflict on a regular basis. Everyone. Whether it’s with your co-workers, lovers, family, friends, or just with inner monologue, occasional conflict (“a serious disagreement or argument, typically a protracted one”) is a natural byproduct of life. If you’ve ever wondered if your conflict skills could use improvement, this research based workshop is for you. Learn about the 3 different styles of conflict that lead to healthy long-term relationships (of any kind), identify your style, and practice proven ways to more successfully manage conflict. Taught by a local Marriage and Family Therapist (who knows).
About the presenter:
Brittany Steffen is a Marriage and Family Therapist, educator, researcher, and equal rights activist from Seattle, Washington. Her childhood experience growing up between two households, one liberal LGTBQ and the other conservative Christian, lends itself to her unique therapeutic perspective built on firsthand experience. In her private practice she caters to the Sex Positive and LGTBQ community, as well as blended or blending families, seeing teens, college students, couples, and families of all shapes and sizes. No Safeword Writers’ Group (Tuesday)
What:A discussion group and writers’ workshop for anyone interested in writing
Schedule:Second Tuesdays, monthly
When:7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Where:Main Space
Who:18+.
Cost:$5 donation requested
